The ESP Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers from Engineered Seal Products, Inc. As 100% employee-owners, we take ownership of not only our Company but also the surrounding communities in which we live and work.
Each year, ESP employees vote for the charities within our local communities they would like to see the Foundation sponsor. Throughout the year we host fundraisers and donate a majority of the proceeds to those charities; the remaining funds are used to support other local non-profits.
On June 13, 2008, Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas were devasted by flooding.
The Cedar River crested to its highest level in Cedar Rapids history, 31.12 feet. The previous record reached only 20 feet. The flood waters penetrated 10 square miles of the city. This monumental flood impacted 5,390 houses, dislocated more than 18,000 residents, and damaged 310 City facilities.
ESP employees agreed that they couldn’t just sit ideally by while their community was hurting. Banding together, they went into action. And so started the call for continued support for the communities in which they work, live, and love.
